Dan Arnold, the former CEO of LPL Financial, has joined Stirlingshire Investments as executive chairman of the board. Arnold, who was terminated from LPL in 2024 for violating the company’s respectful workplace policies, will also work with Stirlingshire’s executive leadership team on strategic oversight. The firm has established both a registered investment advisor and a broker/dealer entity to support its operations.

AI-Native Wealth Management Platform

Stirlingshire, a New York-based wealth management firm, is set to launch its artificial intelligence-native operating platform, Stirling One, at the Future Proof Festival. The platform offers a range of services, including onboarding, portfolio management, trading, rebalancing, tax optimization, compliance, reporting, CRM, and AI-powered tools. This full suite is designed to streamline workflows and enhance decision-making capabilities for wealth managers.

The firm claims to have a unique model, providing advisors with free access to the Stirling One platform and allowing them to keep 100% of their payout. Stirlingshire has both registered investment advisor and broker/dealer entities, with Apex Fintech Solutions handling custody. Advisors who join the firm receive access to these resources without paying for the software, distinguishing the company from competitors that typically charge platform fees.

Arnold’s Experience and Reputation

Steven Woods, founder and CEO of Stirlingshire, praised Arnold’s “unparalleled” reputation and leadership experience in the industry. Arnold’s decision to join the firm is seen as a validation of its platform and vision. With his extensive background, Arnold will contribute to advisor recruitment, operations, strategic partnerships, and scaling the firm. Woods emphasized that Arnold has spent his career helping advisors build successful businesses.

During his tenure at LPL, Arnold led the company through significant changes, including several acquisitions, and delivered a 537% total return to shareholders. However, his departure from LPL was marred by allegations of misconduct, which resulted in a $12 million settlement, allowing him to retain 48,000 stock options. The settlement agreement, finalized in December of that year, allowed Arnold to keep the equity awards despite the circumstances of his firing.

Stirlingshire’s approach to wealth management, combined with Arnold’s expertise, positions the firm as a potential disruptor in the industry. As the company prepares to unveil its AI-native platform, the focus will be on how it leverages technology to enhance advisor capabilities and client outcomes. The firm aims to redefine traditional models by offering a technology-first solution that empowers advisors.
